Insurance companies, pension funds and sovereign wealth funds: competitors or partners?

Tuesday, 11th March 2014 from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm

PANEL GREEN ROOM | MIPIM INNOVATION FORUM FINANCE & INVESTMENT
    Sponsor: Allianz

Over the last years we have been witnessing an increase in the real estate allocations of sovereign wealth funds and new players entering the market. With total assets estimated at 5.13 tn USD (as of October 2013) they represent a growing source of capital competing for real estate assets, a source of capital that cannot be ignored. Topics that will be discussed are:

    - SWFs - how much do they invest in real estate and in which real estate conduits do they invest?
    - Investment Strategy – are we looking for the same?
    - Will SWF real estate capital keep growing?
    - Are we competing for the same product or could we be potential like-minded JV partners?
    - Implications for the real estate investment market and insurance money in real estate
